[Resolved] FloatingSidebar on Sections

Can you please help me add a sidebar on a page with sections ? I’d like to create something with parallax images in the sections, but I’d like the menu to be on the left side, floating in the sidebar.

Any chance ?

As of right now sidebars aren’t supported on section pages – I haven’t found a graceful way to incorporate them.

Any live examples of what you’re trying to re-create?

Nah, not really, but let’s say twentyfifteen theme would work ?

Only the header would still be horizontal.

And the sidebar is in that vertical section, the other horizontal sections are in the content area in the right part.

Also, figured that this won’t work since the sidebar stacks under the content, and if the menu is in the left sidebar it won’t be visible on mobile …

Definitely a tough one. Sections are typically full width, so it’s difficult to integrate a sidebar in there either way.

Hi Tom,

I have run into the same problem. I am using sections but would like to have a floating sidebar on the right hand side. I would like it to look like http://www.bendigodogtraining.com.au with the floating sidebar, only I would be using sections which I was not there.

For exapmle in my page http://www.campaspeworkingdogs.com/wordpress/sires where I am using sections I would like to have a floating sidebar on the right hand side. Password to get into site is cwdtw2016!
