    Hi there,

I’m having trouble setting the height of my menu, and removing all padding. I can make the changes in the Customizer, but they don’t stick when I preview the page.

Here’s a screenshot of the ideal settings:screenshot of desired look

    Best,

    Hi there,

Are you using a child theme?

If so this is likely the issue:

    Hi Leo,

I’m using a child theme, but I don’t see the code snippets in the help documentation you shared.

    Thanks,
    Blake

Try activating the parent theme, does the option work?

But isn’t it wise to use a Child Theme? I’m happy not to use one, but I thought that was the way to go.

Are you modifying any of GP’s core files or adding more than like 1000 lines of CSS?

If not then I wouldn’t say you need a child theme.

You could absolutely use one if you wish – just activate the parent theme first so we can identify the current issue.

Many thanks, Leo! I activated the parent theme, then copied over the CSS from my child theme and now the header looks great!

I’ll stick with this setup. Great to know I don’t have to use a child theme with GP.

    You guys are the best,
    Blake

    No problem!

If one day you decided to use a child theme, make sure to grab one from here then you won’t have any issues:
