Hello,
Not sure what going on here but the first comment always has authors response above the person who made the comment
Is there a way to get the author's response to be below the commentators for that first comment?

Try Enabling threaded (nested) comments in Dashboard > Settings > Discussion.

Hmm that doesn't seem right. Did you click the "Reply" link inside the comment you're replying to? Can you try again?
