Find theme modifications before updating

Hi guys,
Because I'm really "smart," I don't use a child theme for one of my sites (the most important one of course).
Now I am scared to update.
What would be a good way to go about the update? Or just do it and keep my fingers crossed...

The problem is that I can't remember if I did make any changes.

You could use a program like this: https://sourcegear.com/diffmerge/
Then you can download 2.4.2: https://wordpress.org/themes/download/generatepress.2.4.2.zip
And then download the folder you're currently using.
Then you can compare the two folders with that program to find the difference.
