find out dimensions of header

Hi, how do I find out the dimensions of the header so I can create a banner? :)

Your header size depends on the container size you have set.

If you want a full width header, you can make it the same size or larger than the width you have set in "Appearance > Customize > Layout".

The height will be proportionate to the width.

how propertionate? i mean i have set a width of 1100px ... how much is the height then?

It's up to you really - you can keep it tall or crop it smaller. 100% user preference.
