[Support request] Featured Posts & Latest Posts on the sidebar without plugin

Hello team,

I have activated the Recent Posts Widget (check the link below) plugin to display Recent Posts and Featured Posts on the sidebar.

Given that we’re trying to reduce the use of plugins for faster loading times (and make way for new plugins that are more essential) could you guide me on how I could display the 5 Latest posts and 5 posts from a Featured category on the sidebar with Thumbnails without using this plugin?

Hi there,

that would require custom development which is out of our scope. That plugin is super lightweight, i cannot see how any custom code would be any more performant – as it would effectively be the same code.
