Featured Image Problems

First - it works fine for Posts - it's Pages that are giving me problems.
I set the featured image in Customize- Blog. Featured Images - Pages. Centered. Below Title
I set a Featured Image for the page - done on the right hand side.

I'm using GenerateBlocks - First a container - then the Grid.
It shows the Featured Image to the left of the page - and on one page it's cut off on the left.

I tried it on on unpublished page not using GenerateBlocks and it showed 2 images both centered.
I went back to Customize and unclicked - Show Featured Images.
It now shows one Featured Image - to the left of the page.

This morning, there was a wordpress update and I seem to get the two images centered now with GenerteBlocks and show featured images checked - but I have unchecked it for now.

I deactivated GenerateBlocks and Page-list plugin - but the problem remains.
I then reactivated GenerateBlocks and Page-list. (I haven't actually used Page-list yet.) Tested again, with the Show Featured Images it would now show 2 images both centered. (I unchecked it for now)

Here is one page - using GenerateBlocks after the wordpress update- Show Featured Image unchecked

What I would like it to do is:
Not show the featured image on Pages. I just want to use it with Page-list to put a list of pages with an image on the bottom of the page.

I deactivated the cache plugin

Weird. Any chance you can disable all plugins except GP Premium and provide the dashboard access for me to take a look?

You can use the private URL field.

I don't want to disable woo commerce, or the square plugin - they were a beast to set up.

I disabled the rest
I'll send the sign in details

Can you try activating the parent theme?

It's activated

yup, the featured image is gone. Can I put everything back now, or will it blow up lol

Yes you can activate the child theme back on.

If the issue appears again when you activate the child theme, then check over the function.php file in your child theme and determine what is interfering with the customizer function.

It's back. Where do I find the php file? And what am I looking for?

There should be a function.php in your child theme - we don't add a child theme to your site by default so this is something you have done.

Is there a reason why you are using a child theme?

If not then just leave the parent theme activated.

Aren't we supposed to use a child theme so any changes we make don't get lost when there's an update? It's a generatepress child theme - Exhibit.
