Featured Image on blog post full container width

Hi,
I'm using the default layout for the blog, with the main blog and widget boxes to the right.
Is there a way to make the featured image in each blog post full width of the container so it touches the edges? I want the content underneath to stay the same with the border however.

This will actually be a feature in GPP 1.5. You can test out the beta here: https://generatepress.com/gp-premium-1-5-alphabeta/
The option is you are looking for is Display padding around images.

Likely next week.
The beta has been out for awhile and we haven't received any major issues from other users so it should be stable :)
