Featured Image Metabox on posts not displaying (most of the time)

When creating a new blog post, the Featured Image metabox only displays occasionally. There is no rhyme or rhythm for making it display consistently.
What is the solve for this? I recall seeing similar posts a while back, but it would seem like the issue still persists?
Incredibly frustrating as the creation of a blog post is my nemesis - I never know whether I'm going to spend 10 minutes creating a post, or an hour of refreshes, logging in/out, clearing cache etc. until "oh hey, there it is".
Please, for the love of all that is precious in this world, fix this issue?!

This is generally related to a plugin issue.
Users have reported disabling certain plugins, generally those that do Image optimization or SEO seems to resolve the issue.
Can you check by temporarily disabling other plugins ?

An odd workaround for this.
1. Add Featured Image from content panel.
2. Publish.
3. It will appear twice in the post.
4. Delete the Featured Image added via content panel.
5. Publish.
It seems to keep the Featured Image as if it had been added by the meta box.
Odd behaviour, but it worked for me.
