Featured image - full browser height

Hi,
Through the use of the "Content / Sidebar / Sidebar layout option and (a lot of) CSS customizations, I have a GP website layout with Featured image on the left half of the browser window and one or two sidebars to the right.

BUT: I need some advice on how to make the Featured images full browser height and responsive (scalable to any viewpoint size).

I just can't nail it! Please; somebody help me.
