    Hi guys,

I’ve just been told by RankMath that I need to set the featured images on blog posts or else it breaks validation on SDTT (since they pull it in to use in the schema).

I’ve just done that and it looks pretty bad now eg:

Is there a way I can change the location of the image? At the moment it now blocks the breadcrumb links and it’s positioned above the title (whereas every other page the content has been set up to go below the title)?

    Many thanks for your help.

    Michael.

Make sure to select Post and then change its location to Below Title.

That works brilliantly, with a bit of image styling ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks again David. If only RankMath was as straightforward!

Hi David, please can I ask what the featured image does (aside from place an image on the page) – does it somehow get priority or boost SEO? After adding them to all blog pages as per RankMath suggestion I now see that the onsite search results on the site put the blog posts and their featured images first, which is why I’m asking. It could be some setting in Relevanassi though. Thank you for your help.

Featured images have their own special function in WordPress.
GP like most themes calls the function in Singles ( posts and pages ) and Archives ( including search ).

They can also be called by plugins e.g RankMath may call them for rich snippets, social shares etc….
