    Good afternoon.

How can I control the size of the feature image on my pages? Some are suddenly pulling through at full size whereas before they were auto-cropped. I’m not sure what I changed to affect this.

I assume it has something to do with the page hero element but I can’t figure it out. I’ve tried tinkering with a few things but nothing seems to be changing it.

    Many thanks,
    Daniel

    Hi there,

Featured image sizes can be controlled in Customize > Layout > Blog.

However, GP Premium 1.10.0 is about to be released, which changes the sizing options: https://generatepress.com/gp-premium-1-10-0/

I suggest updating to it before changing anything 🙂

    Hi Tom,

I’ll have a look at 1.10.0 but just want to understand the current behavior.

On the home page, as an example, the image scales to the container size.

On another page however, a much larger image is shown unless you play with the blog settings you mention.

If I change the width/height in the Blog setting y then it still does not behave as it once did (before I broke something?) and fill the full container as required e.g

https://gameaway.co.uk/perron/nl/home-nl/ – working okay and does not seem to be affected by blog change
https://gameaway.co.uk/perron/nl/onze-kamers – not filling to width of container despite being set to width auto and height 400 px.

    Hope that makes sense.

The code behind both images there is the same. The only difference I’m seeing is the size of the image.

The first image is 1920×500, being resized by the browser to 1200×312 so it fits the container.

The second image is 1200×800 and isn’t being resized at all by the browser as your container is 1200px wide.
