i wanted to automatically put the featured image at the top of the article, below the title.
how to do this?

Are you referring to the single post of main blog page?
For main blog page: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/adjusting-the-featured-images/
For single post: Customizer > Layout > Page Header > Single Post Header Location
