Feature image with different file formats

Hi,
to improve the speed as I could read would be more of a fine tuning thing for Generatepress. I think a killer feature would be if the theme could convert jepg and pngs to webp and avif formats.
I know it’s maybe not in the boundaries of a theme to do but it would be a great feature nonetheless.
Still I would love your thoughts on that? Thank you

While I definitely agree that it'd be nice to have that feature but adding too many feature may bloat the theme, making it not exactly lightweight anymore.
Also, image uploads actually have best practices. Uploading random images format and size carelessly isn't one of them.

This is true. This kind of thing is actually under optimization plugin's category rather than themes.
