One thing worth checking is that the original image you have uploaded is wide enough to fill the space. You can test by uploading a larger image. Let us know when you're ready.

I'll check this too. Can't I adjust the text to the image? Or make the box smaller?

You can reduce the Container Width in Customizer > Layout > Container.
