Feature Box Plugin?

is there a feature box plugin you would recommend that works best with GP?

You could use Page Header for something like that - you would just need to know a little HTML/CSS to get the elements to look like that.

I'm not aware of any plugins that can do that for you really.

If I were to use a shortcode from an opt-in plugin, would it work in Page Header?

It should, Page Header accepts shortcodes :)
