[Support request] Favicon Alt Text

Hi all,

I run regular AHREFs SEO audits to keep my site clean.

One issue that’s been popping up is that my favicon doesn’t have alt text. This flags each page on my site as having a technical SEO error. I know it’s not that big of an issue, but my OCD is kicking in!

I checked in the media library and added alt text to the favicon icon and then re-ran an audit. It’s still showing that there’s no alt text.

Any ideas why?

Hi Daniel,

The favicon is handled by WordPress, not by GP.

Can you try removing the image from the customizer, save changes, remove the image from site library, clear cache, re-name the image, re-upload to the site library, add alt text, re-add the favicon in the customizer > site identity, clear cache?
