[Resolved] Extend Image Beyond Layout Confines

Hi Tom,

I am building my site with a width of 960px. My client would like a picture to be wider than everything else on the page. If I make the layout larger then I have to adjust everything else.

Is it possible to make an image (or perhaps revolution slider) that is 1100px wide on a layout that is only 960px wide?

Yes, but you would need to place the element outside of the container.

For example, anything placed in the “After Header” hook will be placed outside of the container, so it can take on whatever width you need.

Some sliders have a forced 100% width option, but other than that there’s no way to make an element inside the container have a larger width.
