Excerpt on my blog page which i have selected as 60 -is showing entire content

are you using any plugins to allow for HTML to be displayed in the Excerpt?

if i deactivate all the plugins,still it shows.

Did you try clearing any caches (plugins / server and browser) after de-activating the plugin?

I am facing the same problem.
here is my condition:
my site is in Chinese, I used to set excerpt word count 50, and it worked well with Chinese till recently(not sure when it stopped working).
I tried to set the excerpt word count to like 5, and it became less chinese words showing, but it doesn't work as before, and still lots more words than 5.
right now I only use elementor and essential addons plugins to adjust my site layouts, but I didn't use any plugins that affects archives page.
could you help?

thank you for getting back, always so quickly!
to update, my site is in Chinese, today I tried again on customize, somehow it worked today, when I set the excerpt 50, it shows as before(the last year or so), 50 chinese characters. I don't know if today's GP update helps, but I am happy now!
