I have a website at Eoin.michianait.net using GP Premium.
When I go to configure the plugin by entering the reg code, I get “cURL error 28: Connection timed out after 10001 milliseconds” and “not receiving updates.
This doesn’t happen on other sites where I use GP Premium
Any ideas?

I checked with my hosting company, Rochenhost.com, and this is what they said:
“Upon further investigation I see the IP address of GeneratePress is not blocked on our servers firewall, please check with the GeneratePress team whether our servers IP address (US513) is not blocked at their end. US513 IP’s are 72.249.30.172/72.249.30.173”

We don’t block server IPs on our end.
Are you using the same hosting on the other sites where it works?
August 17, 2019 at 11:01 am #986707MarkHi Tom,
Yes, e.g., staging4.nimblethimble.com is on the same host and doesn’t exhibit this symptom – really strange.

P.S. you can login as an Admin if that would help:

August 17, 2019 at 4:52 pm #986850TomLead DeveloperLead DeveloperIf it was an issue with the IP address being banned, it should happen to all sites on the server (including your staging).
Did you mention that to your hosting support?
August 17, 2019 at 5:48 pm #986873MarkHi Tom,
Thanks for looking into this. Yes, I did mention that to the hosting company, Rochenhost.com.
I usually love their support but was disappointed that they couldn’t come up with something. I don’t know if the support with another company is any better.

August 18, 2019 at 9:57 am #987369TomLead DeveloperLead DeveloperHmm, I’ve never heard of them before.
So now that we’ve confirmed it’s not a blocked IP (or your staging site would have the issue), do they have any other ideas?
Have you tried making the connection with all of your plugins deactivated?
August 22, 2019 at 7:06 am #990567ch1800Hi guys, I have the same problem with a new site at a new host.
They tried to find a solution but doesn’t seem to work so far.
What should I ask them to do or check exactly please? Thanks.
August 22, 2019 at 8:29 pm #991215TomLead DeveloperLead DeveloperTheir server needs to be able to communicate with
generatepress.com
using cURL.Which error are you getting?
August 22, 2019 at 8:57 pm #991237ch1800I’ll tell them that because they were having issues.
It’s not very important as it is a low cost server I’m using to setup templates for clients so that they can choose the layout and then I move away to other servers.I was getting this one:
cURL error 28: Connection timed out after 10004 millisecondsUPDATE:
Just tested and it seems that today it works.
I forwarded them this thread yesterday and it seems they got the message before myself.Resolved for me, thanks!
