Error adding new Block Element above Top Menu
9 replies · Started by Mel on March 29, 2023
I want to add a line of text above the Main Menu (Primary Menu, Off Canvas Menu) at the top.
I have the GeneratePress Premium and GenerateBlocks Pro plugins installed and activated.
I am using the GP sample site “MyPet”.
Appearance > Elements > Add new element >
Element Type: Block > Create
Location: Entire Site
Element Type: Hook
Hook Name: before_header
as soon as I choose Hook Name I get an error message:
The “generate press-block-element” plugin has encountered an error and cannot be rendered.”
Hi Mel,
So we can take a closer look at the issue, can you provide admin login credentials?
Please use the Private Information field for this: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/using-the-premium-support-forum/#private-information
Hi Fernando,
I now managed to use the top bar widget instead of creating an element.
Would it still be a good idea for you to check the “generate press-block-element” plugin error? IN case I need to use it for something else?
Thanks
Mel
I see. Glad you found an alternative.
Yes, it's still a good idea if you want to use it in the future.
Hi,
thanks for looking into this.
Kind Regards
Mel
Thank you! There's a new update for GP Premium. GPP 2.3.1. That update should address the issue.
Great. It works now. Is it better using a widget or an Element?
You're welcome, Mel! Either should be fine.
Great thanks for your help.
You're welcome, Mel!
