Entire Site Acting As Outbound Link Post Plugin/Theme Updates to Current
16 replies · Started by Edward on March 23, 2023
Greetings, Just pointed DNS to this site and upgraded to the latest premium GeneratePress and Blocks plugins
Now, the entire site is linking to our Youtube page.
I can see in the code where it is happening but I didn't set anything to perform this behavior. How do I stop this from happening?
Much appreciated!
Hi Edward,
I just visited the link in the private info field and it went to your site and no YouTube pages:

GP doesn't have the ability to redirect anything so if you are still having the issue then I'd recommend:
- Try #1 in debugging steps here: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/debugging-tips/
- Check with your hosting support.
Hope this helps :)
Did you click on the hero? Just retested post removing the link on the footer container with the YouTube icon. Now the entire hero links to the Instagram profile, which is the next icon in the footer element.
Much appreciated.
This is what I'm seeing: https://www.screencast.com/t/A0lsd4S952
There is a GB container link that has the IG link.
Leo,
If you view the source code on the index, you can see the container holding essentially the entire page is acting as an outbound link.
Much appreciated.
Hi Edward,
I'm seeing the same thing as Leo,
For clarity, can you a screenshot of this issue?
Uploading Screenshots: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/using-the-premium-support-forum/#uploading-screenshots
Correct. Where is the control for that? It includes the header and is applied to multiple pages.
Much appreciated.
Fernando, Leo's screenshot is correct. Post plugin update, that code is across multiple pages.
The only intended links to the YouTube or now Instagram profiles are on the icon containers in the footer element. Somehow they seem to be applied to the entire surface of the site at present on multiple pages.
I see.
Can you try both of these?:
a) Choose Inline Embedding for the CSS Print Method in Settings > GenerateBlocks.
b) Regenerate your CSS files in Settings > GenerateBlocks.
Neither of those worked. Currently set to inline. Even removing all of the social links in the footer did not solve it.
I see. Can you provide admin login credentials so we can take a closer look at the issue?
Please use the Private Information field for this: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/using-the-premium-support-forum/#private-information
Yes, sent.
Can you try setting the position of the Container Block to Relative?: https://share.getcloudapp.com/xQuRnlYZ
If that doesn't work, turn the Headline Block to the link instead of the Container Block.
I tried both of those. I now have all 3 unlinked completely and the behavior is still present.
Hi there,
i think its a page caching issue as the gb-container-link HTML is not present when i am logged into your site.
it only shows when i log out. I did try purging the caches but that seems to have done very little so it could be an issue in its settings.
However... may i suggest you delete that Grid Block. And instead use a GB Buttons Block to show the 3 icon buttons, that should fix the issue and make those icons more accessible
