Enabling GeneratePress Child Theme when Site has Code Snippets plugin

I am working on a GeneratePress site - https://zuziko.com/ - where its creators did not use a child theme. I added a child theme and enabled it, but some, not all, of the look-and-feel got jumbled. So, I quickly switched back to the main GeneratePress theme which restored how it originally looked.

So, I have a question. If the site creator used Code Snippets and set Generate Press settings on the main (not child) theme, and I then enable a child theme, would those Snippets and GP settings be lost? I'm thinking that is likely what the issue is.
