I’m sorry when you asked me about the footer.php in my child theme I could have sworn it wasn’t there, but I must have been looking in the wrong spot. I don’t even know why it was there I wasn’t using it. But I deleted it and now the menu is working! The only other question is it possible to do submenus on the amp mobile menu or can it only do the top level?
Edit: Actually the mobile drop down menu was working, the toggle button was just transparent for some reason. I had to add some css to make it visible. Now I think it’s all working. I’ve actually switched my site over to native amp now so every page is served amp.

One small thing, if I switch to svg generatepress icons instead of the icon font they don’t seem to work on the amp pages.

Lead DeveloperLead DeveloperSVG icons are a new option in GeneratePress, so we’ll need to update the AMP plugin to support them.
Will do so ASAP 🙂

Great thanks, I’ve tried other amp compatible themes, and Generatepress is still the best of them. Some of the others have so much css I can barely add any before I hit the amp limit. You need to add your theme to the list here https://amp-wp.org/ecosystem/. Your minimal design lends itself to going amp native.

Has there been any work on the amp plugin in the last few months? I would still like to have the SVG icons on amp pages. Thanks!

Lead DeveloperLead DeveloperNo updates as of yet – getting the AMP plugin complete and uploaded to WP.org is next on my list once our next set up updates are out.

Now, Only Few Days Left to My License Finish.
I waited a Year Long…
Purchased More Themes to Fix This.
Some Themes Works Well.
Now, I have a new site for Minimal Design.
I prefer GP or Astra
if AMP is not yet Ready in GP, Then it’s the time to say you a Good bye 🙂
GP is the Best Theme without AMP.
Thanks.

Lead DeveloperLead DeveloperI understand – we’ve been very busy, so we haven’t figured out the SVG issue, yet.
What we can do for now is check if AMP is active, and switch to font icons instead. That way the icons will at least be visible until we figure out why the SVGs aren’t working.
Let me know if you need that code 🙂

I’m facing the same issue on my website: https://curiousviral.com. I have installed the AMP plugins but the same errors. how do I solve? JS is not compatible with AMP.
