    Hi there,

I am almost finished translating this website. I can’t translate the regular logo string url in WPML. The string is empty. Retina logo is already translated. No problem.

The logo is visible in the customizer but the GeneratePress string in WPML is still empty?

    Some screen shots:

    Kind regards,
    Aad

    Hi there,

The standard logo is actually a theme_mod named custom_logo.

This is a requirement for themes on WordPress.org.

Let me know if you need more info πŸ™‚

    Thanks Tom,

I reported the issue to WPML Support. Something is going wrong with the string translation…

    Kind regards,

The “logo” option you’re seeing there is old and deprecated – it won’t do anything anymore, which is why it’s empty.

WPML should have an area for theme_mods, which is where you’ll find the custom_logo option.

    Thanks Tom,

If I use theme_mods and custom_logo there appears an translation string. But there’s no url. The string says 45 πŸ€”

The retina and mobile logo are translated correctly by WPML. That’s strange.

I’ll let you know what the outcome is at WPML Support.

The custom_logo option uses the attachment ID of the image.

Elsewhere in the theme, we use URLs, but that wasn’t possible with the site logo due to WP.org restrictions.

    Thanks Tom,

The problem is already solved by WPML Support. The reason why the string is empty is because I use a child theme. I did not think about that at all πŸ™ˆ
