Elements: Responsive visibility does not work for shortcode block
8 replies · Started by Rudy on August 2, 2022
In Elements I added a block with a shortcode to appear after content, but only on desktop.
So in 'display conditions' > 'responsive visibility' I activated 'Hide on tablet' and 'Hide on mobile'.
But they don't hide the generated content from the shortcode on tablet/mobile.
Looks like these hide-functions only work for text-blocks.
Hi Rudy,
Is the shortcode coming from a plugin? Are the hide on tablet and hide on mobile options coming from the plugin?
If so, GP doesn't have control of it.
If you can provide the link and point us to this specific block, we can have a look for you.
Let me know!
Q1: yes (content vieuws pro)
Q2: no, this plugin has no hide-functions for responsive.
Therefore I activated the hide functions for tablet/mobile in Elements. I assumed that would do the job. That's what it's there for, no?
I also did the test with other shortcodes from another plugin, same result.
I'm not gonna provide a link, because it's a very complex website and it's just a minor detail. I will try to set up a test-environment for this.
Hi there,
could you provide a screenshot with the shortcode selected in the Element, and where i can see the Hide functions ?
Hi David,
It's been almost a month since my last answer. Haven't heard anything since then.
Hi there,
apologies that we missed your last reply.
You will need to first add a Container or Group block, and set its responsive visibility and then add the Shortcode block inside that.
It won't work directly with the shortcode block as it does not output any HTML for the hide-on-* classes to be applied.
We will take a look at disabling that.
Ok, tnx!
You're welcome - and thank you for your patience.
