Elements not loading on homepage

I'm new the GeneratePress and have spent all day trying to watch videos and learn about the setup.
I created a blank home page and then built a custom elements page assigning it to the blank home page using blocks/content template with sections tag (domain.com/home). Everything looked good and was working as intended on the page. When I went into Customizer and assigned that page as my root home page (domain.com), now none of the elements I created are showing.
I built it using the Elements and not directly on the page because I was using query loops with dynamic images and apparently those don't work on the page itself. I tried searching YouTube and the Forum but could not find anything about this. Any advice?

I'm not sure I understand what you mean. Can you explain a bit more?
query loops block is a WP core block, GP's block element -content template (style) won't work on it. A block element - content template only works for the default post loop, in another word, it works on the default blog/archive pages.

I'll try to explain it this way. I have linked the exact same element titled "first homepage section" to two blank pages: home and front-page.
See https://backyardpatiosdecks.com/home/ the page loads and is displaying the element correctly
Now see https://backyardpatiosdecks.com/front-page/ is set in customizer as the front-page but the element does not load when you visit https://backyardpatiosdecks.com
Never mind I found the error. I was selecting the wrong front page option in the Layout section

Dear Hubert, can you just explain what option you corrected, because i have the same behaviour with my frontpage as you described and cannot figure out what is wrong.
