Rekamedia
I just updated to 5.8, the website still looks the same, but when I click Elements, it’s empty.
When I go to Customize, it only shows widget. Why? How to fix this?

WP 5.8 will not let me “add new post”

StaffCustomer SupportHi Rekamedia,
I’m not able to replicate this issue on my end and we haven’t received other reports on this.
Can you try disabling all plugins except GP Premium to test?
Thanks.
Graeme – Please open a new topic for your question.
Thanks!

StaffCustomer SupportHi there,
i and many other users have updated to 5.8 and have not experienced those issues.
Before updating it is best to disable any cache plugins, or at least clear any caches including server caches after updates. If the issue persists then check for Plugin or Child Theme function conflicts. By temporarily disabling them.
Also check to if you have any Hook Elements adding code to the theme that is causing the issue.Graeme, try the same – if its still an issue then raise a new topic and we can look into it.

Hi Leo,
You can’t replicate because I downgrade my website back to 5.7 and the problem is now gone.

StaffCustomer SupportI would recommend trying David’s suggestions above and upgrade again. You will want to upgrade at some point and will have to figure what the issue is.

I had the same problem. I just had a few elements and was able to rebuild them quickly. Not sure though if it’s a GP conflict or something else.

StaffCustomer SupportHi there,
these kinds of issues seem to be localised to the individual site ( if they weren’t then we would have probably been inundated with support requests, which hasn’t been the case ) – we’ll do some more testing but so far everything i have updated to 5.8 has gone very well ( aside from the annoying Block Widgets )

Thanks David. Agreed. FYI, the visual editor and the plugin panels were in the middle of the page, on top of the content and not at the bottom, including the Elements settings. The code editor was displaying normally. Rolled back to the previous WP release and everything was fine. Apparently it’s not a plugin. Go figure… Btw, I love your theme and great support.

StaffCustomer SupportThanks for letting us know what the visible issues were – we’ll keep testing.
Really appreciate the feedback. And the Cat Gravatars on this page make me smile 🙂July 29, 2021 at 9:58 am #1876102Riccardo
