Yes, I can insert shortcodes (for example in the sidebar). But I do not know how to do it in the main menu.

Ok if you can turn that widget you want in menu into shortcode then we can try the hook.

The generate_inside_navigation isn't listed in the module. You will need to use the actual snippet like this:
