Elementor page showing GP behind
7 replies · Started by Stephen on November 9, 2017
Hi,
First time for everything..........
I created a new page, added an elementor section and previewed the damage :-)
Why is GP body and sidebar showing behind the section please?
Thanks
Steve
Hi there,
You've forced your Elementor section to be full width, which uses javascript and places it on top of everything (even outside of the content container).
1. Set your sidebar layout to have no sidebars: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/sidebar-layout/
2. Use one of the Page Builder Container options: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/page-builder-container/
Hope this helps :)
Hi Tom,
Thanks for the info, much appreciated.
Something you may be interested in, or not, as the case may be ;-)
When a page includes an Elementor Section, the Sidebar Layout options in Edit Page view, is automatically changed to: Content (no sidebars).
When a page includes a GP Section, the Sidebar Layout options remain on Default. Should this auto change as above?
Just an observation :)
Thanks
Steve
Hi Steve,
GP's sections actually remove sidebar by default. So although the option didn't change, you shouldn't see a sidebar in there.
Let me know if this answers your question :)
Hi Leo,
Thanks, yes, I realised that.
I was thinking from a usability perspective, that the Sidebar Layout setting should change. Although, I think you said in another thread that GP sections is being discontinued due to Gutenberg. Therefore, I'm going to use Elementor sections for now.
Btw the way, does anyone know, round about, when Gutenberg will be released?
Thanks
Steve
Actually I don't see it will be discontinued anymore :) We just need to make it compatible with Gutenberg.
No idea when it will be released yet. They have lots of stuff to fix first.
Ah, ok, thats good news.
Thanks
Steve
No problem :)
