Editor styles after update

A client is complaining that, after the most recent WordPress and GeneratePress updates, most styles are no longer loading in the editor. They were before, and not because I took any extra steps to create or enqueue editor styles.

I designed, built and launched the site last summer, with GeneratePress Premium, GenerateBlocks Pro, and WP Show Posts Pro. I am noticing the same behavior in other sites I've built using the same resources.

I have a separate, fairly extensive stylesheet loading via Code Snippets, and fonts hosted locally with the help of Perfmatters (the site was built before GP had its current font options).

Before the recent updates, all styles loaded fine despite coming in from different places. Was there a change to WordPress, GP or GenerateBlocks that would have affected they way editor styles work? Is there a setting I've missed? Thanks for any insight you can offer.

Hi there,

nothing has changed in GP that would affect it - but plenty of stuff did in WP.
What snippets were you using to enqueue the styles ?

Hi David!

I wasn't enqueueing (sp?) the styles. At all. They just pretty much matched the front end. I assumed it was some sort of GP wizardry that made it happen.

Now I'm really puzzled.

We're aware of a couple of issues relating to some things that 5.9 screwed up. Including the Editor Widths being messed up and Fonts not previewing on Mobile and Tablet editor views.

These have been patched in the latest updates.

Is it primarily a font issue, then we suggest updating to the Dynamic Typography.
