There is another issue which I'm hoping GeneratePress can fix, though it happened while it was still under the old theme, Prose. It's a glitch I remember happening, but I don't know what I did to do it. The homepage is a list of posts, all with transparent backgrounds that show the overall fixed photo for the whole blog. The first thumbnail, Thibodeaux/Azor Succession, had the transparency deleted, making it white. It's fine on the actual post, and didn't happen to any other thumbnail or anywhere else I can find. Now that the staging area has been made live under your theme, the old commands are no longer available. I was hoping that that glitch would disappear, but it didn't. Link below.

GP doesn't have an option to edit the background color of each individual pages.

The background color in the editor should inherit the settings in Customizer > Colors > Content > Background.

The editor DID inherit the settings, and did everything right. But the setting said to make the page background transparent, so that the fixed photo beneath it showed through. That was the problem. The editing page being transparent, it just showed white. That's why I needed some special css, or someone who directed me to where in the customizer I could dictate the color of the editor page background. Below you'll see a preview shot of what the page will look like, whose editor page you got a minute ago. You're looking at a background photo, which the editor page isn't supposed to reproduce. Somewhere, though, maybe in a css that didn't survive the transfer, I entered the number of the color that would serve the purpose, where the number for transparency had been. Below the post title, to the right of the date, you'll see my name in the dark green color I was able to turn the editor page background into. Worked beautifully for months until I took it live yesterday. Was one of the many specialized locations in the Customizer>Color section, where I dedicated what the color the titles, etc would be, a location whose parameters covered the editor page background? You'd know... it must have been custom css, huh?

Leo, I found the discussion I first had with y'all about this, and the answer, which worked.

On Jan. 8, Tom wrote: "Can you try setting your body background in “Customize > Colors > Body”?
Right now it’s set to white, even though your website has a dark background image.
If you change the color to a color closer to the background image, the editor will adjust and you’ll be able to see your text better."

Unfortunately, when I went into the customizer, the body color setting had not been switched back to default, but was still set to the dark green color I had asked for. The order itself survived the transfer, but the color it had produced was no longer in effect.

Btw, the other topic, the homepage feature photo background glitch left over from the old theme, being white instead of transparent, has been fixed.

Did it, no effect. Put it back, no effect. Went to preferences, turned off 'editor looks same as real page', no effect (which was weird, things were still like the real page except for background), turned it back on, no effect.

Hmm - If I have this right, I was changing the color of the body's background, which didn't matter because the photo covered the body either way. You're changing the color of the content, which is what I have to have transparent in order to see the photo behind it. Am I right? The last shot of your video (which, totally thank you for that!), looks like what my edit page did when it worked right, but I don't think it is the edit page. I think it's the actual blog, with the content color, no longer transparent, covering the photo background. I'm only looking to get the solid green background on the edit page. The real page has the photograph as the entire backdrop.

That is the edit page.

Can you just try the same steps I did in the video above? You should not notice any changes in the front end/live site.

I did try it, of course, many times, trying all variations I could think of, erasing or changing the color number, saving, updating, checking, double checking I didn't skip any step, then re-entering it, saving, yada yada. I rebooted, etc. Nothing changed. I told the background of the body to be green, and the editing page won't do it. But I only did all these things to the body, which is what had worked back when Tom told me to, not the content, which is what you were changing in your video. I'm scared of changing anything in the content section for fear of screwing my transparent background up, too, only this time, losing my transparent background on the real page as well as the editing page.
I checked what the original settings had been, the body background being set to dark green and the content background being set to transparent, and the real site was perfect. If I changed the content background to green, how could the background photo show through the content window?
I have to be missing something. What could I have done that kept Tom's initial fix from working the same way again?

That is actually not what I did. If you watch the video closely, all I did was to remove (cut) the value in the content background color field and that's it - no green background color was added.

When the content background color field is empty, then the editor uses the body background color.

And you won't see the body background color in the live site as it's covered by your background image.
