    Hi all —

I have my home page configured to show “Your Latest Posts,” number of posts “1”, not excerpted. So you open the site, you see the latest blog post in full.

At the end of that single post are links to go to the next page: “1 2 … 9 Next →” The reader clicks 2, he goes to page 2 which shows the 2nd to last post and so on.

But since each page is displaying a single post, I’d rather just direct the reader to the actual 2nd to last post, instead of the 2nd to last page containing the 2nd to last post.

Is there an easy way to chance those end-of-post links to a simple link to the 2nd to last post directly? Thank you!

    Hi Nick,

I’m not sure if there’s a way to do that dynamically. It would be best to reach out to the WordPress forums with regards to this as this is WordPress core. Forum link: https://wordpress.org/support/forum/wp-advanced/

An alternative I could think of is to redirect the front page to your actual recent post, and then set up the post navigation through a Block Element – Post Navigation.

    See relevant links:

    A Post navigation wouldn’t be the typical 1 2 3 4 5 …. pagination though, but more of a previous/next post pagination.
