Draft font color changed after recent update

Hi, I updated my site recently and ran into a small issue:
When I edit a post in a draft, the default font color turned to black instead of my site's white font color. This made it difficult to see what I am writing in the draft page for new posts since my background is dark grey. Any idea how to fix this?
Hi Ryan,
WordPress 5.9 made changes with regards to CSS and selectors in the Block Editor.
Moreover, the colors set in the Customizer take effect when editing in draft.
With that said, can you try going to Appearance > Customize > Colors and see if changing the Body Text color to white resolves the issue?
Furthermore, can you also try changing the Content Text color?
See this for reference: https://share.getcloudapp.com/JruG850k
Let us know if changing these colors work. Hope to hear from you soon!
Body text is already #fff
The Content Text COlor i changed to #fff and it didn't change when in draft
any other suggestions?
Hi there,
What exactly is your screenshot of? Is that in the editor or on the front-end of the site?
That is in the editor when editing or writing posts
It looks fine on the regular site but it’s very hard to write in the editor
Any chance you can provide temp admin login details in the Private Information box so I can take a closer look?
here it is
sorry forgot to include URL. Please be careful not to mess with the live layout/colors
Is there any reason you're still running WordPress 5.5 instead of updating to 5.8 or 5.9?
That's the reason the text color isn't working right now.
We are having some editor styling issues due to 5.9, but text color isn't one of them. We'll be releasing a fix later this week.
Let me know if you're unable to update to 5.8 or 5.9 :)
Ok i just updated to 5.9
I'm getting the opposite problem now. Font is white, background is also white now. In the screenshot i highlighted some of the font so you can distinguish it.
What are the chances!
Ok, so you have a value added to your Content Background value in "Customize > Colors", but it's set to be completely transparent, which is confusing the editor. Can you remove that value completely to see if it fixes the issue?
Ok, we are good now, thank you so much!
Glad I could help! :)
