Donate Site Logo Question

Dear GP,

I'm using the Donate site from the library and have a nagging issue. I was able to remove the "Donate" logo from the desktop site header but not the mobile one. See here: https://presscalifornia.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/20210918_110034-252x400.jpg

I've tried some usual workarounds, such as changing the mobile header from logo to title, but I don't want a title, and using the desktop header for the mobile header, but that creates a wonky issue with the menu.

Anyway, I'm thinking if I just delete the "Donate" logo for the mobile site, that will take care of it. But I can't find where it lives!

It doesn't seem to be the usual place in Appearances/Customize.

Any guidance would be most appreciated.

Richard

Hi Richard,

Updating the mobile header logo should definitely work.

You might need to make sure all caching is cleared

If not can you link me to the site in question?

Thanks :)

Hi Leo,

The site isn't live yet and it's buried in a Yahoo staging area. Long story. Anyway, I have pinpointed the location of the issue.

It's a header Element, which merges the logo into menus when browsers, including mobile, are too small for the main menu.

I replaced it with a different logo, which showed up ok. I really don't want a logo so I removed it.

At which point, the old "Donate" local pops up, because the default link goes "off campus," so to speak, back to here:

If you look at this screen shot, here's where all this is taking place in my staging area.

I tried to just delete the header merge Element, but that causes issues too.

I don't mind the header merge Element, as long as I can zap the logo.

Any troubleshooting appreciated.

Richard

Hmm there shouldn't be an issue once that logo is removed from the header element and customizer.

It's really tough to tell without seeing the issue live but perhaps some sort of caching issue?

Hi Leo,
Appreciate your patience. I took the site live and, well, if you can't beat 'em, join 'em. I just made a logo on the fly for the new site and it works fine. I'll just leave it in there. Thanks.
Richard

No problem :)

Let me know if you need another look.
