Donate site library template -- how to widen the total main menu width

Hi. Everything is up to date with GPP/GB. I am modifying the Donate site library template, but due to adding an additional main menu item, the red Donate button on the right side of the menu has drops to the next line. I've looked through all the controls and elements and see no place to widen the total menu width (not spacing between menus) per desktop, etc. Where is that set?

Also, after looking through the color controls for the Site header (where our logo is), where can I darken my background image by choosing black at 10% transparency? Thanks.

Hi there,

Hi. Everything is up to date with GPP/GB. I am modifying the Donate site library template, but due to adding an additional main menu item, the red Donate button on the right side of the menu has drops to the next line. I’ve looked through all the controls and elements and see no place to widen the total menu width (not spacing between menus) per desktop, etc. Where is that set?

Go to Appearance > Customize > Layout > Container and set the Container Width to something wider than 1240px (default).

Also, after looking through the color controls for the Site header (where our logo is), where can I darken my background image by choosing black at 10% transparency? Thanks.

Donate site uses Header Elements that merges the Header with the Hero section.

You'll have to edit these Header Elements to apply your preferred background transparency.

Donate uses 3 by default. They're labeled Post Header, Home Page Empty Header, and Page Headers.

Hi. Your second tip worked for the background shading in the site header. Thanks. But your first solution to the menu width did not work at all, even if I entered much higher width values. The Donate button stays on the next line. Any new ideas for that? I wish there was a way I could send to you screen images.

(Thanks. See the private info provided below.)

I've tried checking the page you've linked but it's also overridden by the coming soon plugin.

Any change you could temporarily lift the coming soon plugin or provide us temporary admin access to check?

Let us know.

i'm happy to lift the coming soon plugin, but only briefly. Please tell me ASAP a time you will be ready to look. Thanks.

We are not always around for an immediate response unfortunately but we do reply to every topic within 12 hours.

If you can't leave it open for that long then please start a staging site for it.

Thanks for your understanding!

I'm a little confused... since I'm using the existing Donate site library with few modifications, I'm imagining you can see the Donate button on the right side of the main menu there. I haven't changed anything about the menu other than to rename the menu items and to center them. But with just those two changes, the Donate button stays on the next line below the main menu. That's not enough info to solve this? ;)

Unfortunately not. Can you keep the site open for a couple of hours? If so I'll take a look for sure.

If not then please create a staging site.

Thanks!

Okay. (see my private reply)

Update...

YAY! That fixed it. Thanks much!

Now, one related follow-up question: How/where do I control the size/position of that Donate button (to be smaller, etc.) on a mobile device to work well adjacent to (or even within) a hamburger menu? Thanks.

Can you open a new topic for the separate question?

This topic is getting a bit long to track.

Thanks!
