Does GP Premium work with sites hosted on wordpress.com?

I'm looking for a good option to host my custom domain. My domain is registered on google. Google seems to promote Bluehost. I'm not impressed with Bluehost and am considering hosting directly on a paid account on wordpress.com. However, I understand there are limitations in terms of which themes and plugins can be used for sites hosted on paid wordpress.com accounts. Can you let me know if you have any information that can assist in my decision?

Hi Ted,

Unfortunately, GP Premium is not compatible with WordPress.com at this time and we are working on a fix for this.

Let me know if you need a refund for now :)

Hello Leo!

I too need a refund for now, as I purchased GP premium yesterday and didn't know it isn't compatible with Wordpress.com.

Please confirm the processing of this request,
Jesse

I've forwarded your request to Stacey who will be processing this :)

Great, thank you! Looking ahead, when can I expect the refund to be processed and how will I be notified?

Hi Jesse,

I just issued your refund.

Since your purchase was made on a credit card it may take about 5-10 days for the refund to show up on your card.

Thanks for trying GP! :)

Hi Leo or Stacey,
Thanks for the information and yes, please provide a refund -- and hopefully you can let me know when it will be available for WP hosting.

Hi Ted,

I just issued your refund.

Thanks for trying GP! 🙂

Hi guys,

Wondering if GP premium is now compatible with Wordpress.com as it has been almost 2 years since the original post. I tried to install GPP but I am getting the following error message:

The package could not be installed. The theme is missing the style.css stylesheet.

Theme installation failed.

Is this because it is still incompatible or is there another issue here?

Thanks!
Becky

Legend, thank you! I was installing a theme rather than a plugin.. doh!

You're welcome Rebecca!
