Does a longer cache expire period decreases load speed?

Hello,
Sorry if this question is not for here, maybe it's a bit more general but just wondering from your experience does having a cache set to expire after two weeks instead of one increases the load on the website more and as a result decrease the pages load time?

I'm not sure unfortunately - we don't use any caching plugins on our site.
