Dividing main photo grid into two separate spaces

Hello,
How could I go about creating two separate containers in this area, so that I can add a photo/avatar, etc on the right side of this container?
Basically, I would like to split the space in two, so that I can have text on the left and perhaps a photo and more text on the right.

Based on your description, I would recommend using GenerateBlocks plugin, the Grid block of GB should be what you are looking for.
