Displaying category description

Hi,
I have a dilemma.
I note that my theme (volume) does not automatically display the category description. I know this may be sorted by editing code.
But my thought is that the ONLY reason I might want my cat description to display is for the possible SEO benefits. So my questions is that ARE there such benefits even if they remain UNdisplayed as at present.

Hi there,
if the onscreen description adds value then in my non-SEO-Expert view it should be displayed.
You may find that your SEO plugin provides Meta Description for category archives as well - which is generally separate to the category description.
