Hi there Tom

Thank you for your reply

All the comments that are submitted to my site can only be approved by me before they are viewable on the site.

I was just doing some testing myself and found that no message saying 'Your comment is awaiting moderation' shows up

This test I did today hasn't been done before by me

And that happens when you test as a user that has never left an improved comment before?

You can test by leaving an anonymous comment using the Incognito feature in your browser.

Yes that's right, no message for a user that has never left an approved comment before

Sorry Tom, I missed the testing bit. Will do now

Tested and it in an incognito window and it just goes to the top of the site and the url has a #comment-13 at the end

No message

Yes when using the standard GP site I get the your comment is awaiting moderation message and there is this setting at the bottom of the comment section that I don't seem to have on my sites.

Save my name, email, and website in this browser for the next time I comment.

Ah, that's the problem.

Are you using the latest version of GeneratePress?

If so, you might have a plugin activated which is breaking that functionality. You may need to deactivate them one by one until the problem plugin is found.

Thanks Tom

I will do some further investigating and see which plugin is causing the conflict.

Cheers Jodie

Sounds good :)

Hi Tom

So I disabled each plugin, one by one and tested on a new igcognito window to see if the
Save my name, email, and website in this browser for the next time I comment message showed up.

It did not show up.

I have the latest versions of Generate Press and Generate Press Pro.

Not sure what else to do?

Cheers Jodie

Do you have any custom functions active on the site?

Excuse my lack of knowledge on this term Tom - what are custom functions?

PHP functions added in your child theme functions.php file, or in a plugin named "Code Snippets"?

There must be something overwriting the comment fields somewhere on your website. We just need to figure out what.
