[Resolved] Display only uncategorised on home page

I’ve just installed GeneratePress and the add-ons and I’m quite impressed.
I’d like the home page to operate as a blog rather than a static page. Is there an easy way for the home page to only display uncategorised posts?
(I’d describe my coding ability as moderate.)

Tom,
Since posting the question I came across a plug-in, PE Category Filter, J. Pavel Espinal. It notes that it hasn’t been tested on WordPress v4.0. I gave it a try and so far it seems to be working OK.
I’ll keep your reference in case I need it in the future.
