Display First Image Instead Of Featured Image

I'd like to use Generate Press to do something similar to what I've got on the front page of my blog at GolfBlogger.Com
The plug in I'm using takes the first image and uses it as the article image. Generate Press, as far as I can tell, asks me to use set the featured image.
is there a way to do this in Generate Press without the plugin?

There's no way to do this inside GeneratePress by default. You would have to use a custom function or a plugin.
