Disable Post Image for Scheduled Post

Hi,

I have been constructing posts that have a featured image which is also embedded in the beginning of the post. In order to not have the image show up twice on the page, I am using the disable feature and selecting Post Image / Page Header.

This gets me the desired result and it looks fine on the preview. I then schedule the post. On the day it goes live, the disable checkbox is somehow unchecked and I need to go in and edit the post to get back to the desired result.

Is there any way to fix this?

Thanks!
Tom

Interesting, I just set up a scheduled post to test this myself.

Just so I know, the goal here is to have the featured image display on the blog page, but not show up on the single post, correct?

Yes, that is exactly the desired result. Thanks for the quick response and for running the test!

Here's a link to the blog if it helps: http://www.tomcatalini.com/blog/

My test seemed to work as it should.

Which blog post is the problem one?

Each Saturday for a while I've been posting a new blog post and scheduling two more to be posted over the course of the week. They are scheduled for 8AM on Mondays and Wednesdays.

I've been noticing this behavior for a while, so it's happened many times. I thought I was making some sort of mistake. So I was careful this week to double-check everything. I scheduled two post and checked them on preview - they looked fine. As each post went live this week, I found that I had to go back and check the box.

So the two most recent posts are the best examples.

I'm not seeing the post images on those two posts?

I am seeing the image added into the content, but the post image would be above the title.

Yes, that's correct. That's because I have fixed those manually.

I will be scheduling a post for this coming Monday. Should I update this thread with a link before I fix it?

I could also test this tomorrow with my Saturday post by scheduling it instead of posting it "live."

I just did another test: http://screencast.com/t/hiAzNf1NHUS

I paused the video for those two minutes and then resumed to show that everything worked.

Is that generally what you're doing as well?

Yes

Looks like someone else had a similar issue that I couldn’t duplicate: https://generatepress.com/forums/topic/disable-element-issue/

Any chance you can test this (schedule a post to publish in a couple mins for example) with your other plugins disabled just to see if there’s a conflict somewhere?

Yes, that sounds like the exact same issue.

Yes, I can try that tomorrow. Thanks!

No problem, let me know the results :)

No dice.

This post just went live and you can see that the setting did not stick.

I checked the box to disable post image / page header and checked it on preview - looked good. I then scheduled the post and previewed again - looked good.

During this test all Plugins were disabled except the essential ones:
- GP Premium
- Jetpack by Wordpress
- Leadpages connector

Everything else was deactivated.

Any thoughts on what I should try next?

Thanks for your help!

That's really strange.

What version of GP Premium/GeneratePress are you using?
