Disable Featured Image

Hi, I am trying to remove the top featured image without success.
I have unchecked 'Display featured images' on the following:
- Customizer > Layout > Blog –> Featured Images > Posts + Pages
I have checked disable featured images also in the following places.
- Layout Metabox
- Layout Element
However the featured image is still showing below the post title.
I am wanting to remove the top featured images from single posts as I have the featured image in a block that is below the fold and do not require the top featured image that is being duplicated.
