Different width between articles and archives

Hello,
I am a Premium for Life user:-)
I would like to have a sidebar on the right side of the archive, and no sidebar in "article" mode.
I know how to do that.
The problem is that I would like the width of the container to be reduced when I don't display the sidebar, so that the article lines are not too long.
Is this possible?

you can use the Layout Element:

In the Content tab you can set a smaller width - and set the Display Rules Location to: Posts > All Posts.
