Hi guys,

Need some quick help.

Is something like the “Welcome” block on the right sidebar achievable in generatepress with generateblocks?

Also, what is your go to plugin / method to display posts with thumbnails (as in right sidebar)

Hi,

With a few simple tweaks, you should be able to do this with WP Show Posts.

WP Show Posts has a shortcode feature which you can place anywhere on the site(in this case, sidebar).

You can set the WPSP list in a way where it displays the title, excerpt and read more button only. You can then style it w/ CSS to achieve the same layout/colors.

before we go further on WPSP, can you explain how you’d like the “Welcome” sidebar to work?

Do you want it to lead the visitors to some sort of a “Welcome” page? Or is it suppose to function as a “recent post” sidebar?

Hi there,

if the Welcome Block were to be placed at the Top of the Sidebar then yes. You would use a Block Element to create your Welcome Block:

Select the Hook: generate_before_right_sidebar_content to display it at the top of the sidebar.
