    Hey guys,

First of all, I want to thank you for creating and maintaining such an awesome light theme.

I wanted to redesign my website using the plugin WP-Show Posts, something like how this page looks -https://demos.wpshowposts.com/carousel/

I want a homepage with carousels and a text logo and similar colour schemes. I do, however, want a sidebar on all pages other than the homepage. Can it be done easily on my existing website?

There are two things I am concerned about though:

    1. I want to be able to show ads on the sidebar.
    2. I want 95+ pagespeedinsight scores (I am asking because the current wp show posts demo site has abysmal page speed scores for the homepage and average scores for the content pages that are extremely light anyway.

Do I need a web designer for doing this or is it an easy switch because I am using GPP already and is willing to purchase WP Show Posts Pro? Please guide me in the right direction.

    Thanks a lot!

    Hi there,

The carousel feature in WPSP is only in the pro version, so you’d need to start there.

The demo site is using the Split site in our Site Library, so you can easily import it.

For sidebars, you can change the sidebar layout depending on the page you’re on: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/sidebar-layout/

As for performance, this depends on how you optimize your site. I was curious about the scores you mentioned, but that doesn’t seem to be the case: https://www.screencast.com/t/wqZj8pVt4BfU

Not bad for a site with zero optimization.

However, the carousel function does require javascript, so if you’re adding a lot of them, it will take some optimization to make sure your scores stay high.

    Hope this helps!
