Deleting a Post from a Blog

Hello

I want to merge two posts on my blog. So one of them will have to be deleted. I understand that I will have to create a redirect from the deleted post to the new post, right? Do I need to use a plugin to do this? If I do, what plugin do you recommend?

I know that I could ask my hosting provider to create a redirect, but if I ever change a hosting provider the redirect will stop working, so it's not a good option, I guess.
