Delay in side bar load when using header element

I notice there’s a delay before the side bar is displayed when using the header element. When I’m jumping between posts, the header loads and the main content, but then there's a blank space where the sidebar should be, then after a while it appears. Although the header element looks great, the delay before the sidebar loads is a bit annoying. Any ideas what is causing that ? Or how to solve ?
Marking as resolved, I had a brainwave (doesn't happen often).
I was using ESI in Litespeed (conditional checking for non cached content). There was a condition set in one of the widgets. Disabled it and works fine now.
